Search Warrant Leads to Two Arrests in Laurel for Drug Offenses

Delaware State Police have arrested two people from Laurel–50-year-old Alonzo Roberts and 37-year-old Heather Andrews following a search warrant at a home in Laurel Tuesday morning. On September 19th at about 6:10 a.m., Sussex Special Investigations Detectives with the assistance of the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, Troop 5 Patrol, and Probation and Parole executed search warrants at two homes on Trussum Pond Road in Laurel. The search warrants were obtained following a four-month long drug investigation of Alonzo Roberts, who was suspected of the large-scale distribution of narcotics. The search of the homes led to the discovery of numerous rounds of ammunition along with crack cocaine, cocaine, heroin, as well as over $2,500 in suspected drug dealing proceeds. Roberts is at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $62,600 cash bond. The charges Roberts faces include Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited along with the drug offenses. Andrews faces drug charges and is at the Sussex Violation of Probation Center for violation of probation capiases.
