Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 04/20/26
Sunday saw a gale warning up with rain in the afternoon. When I made my usual calls a little after 4:00 p.m. I found my reporting stations all closed. I guess I should not be surprised considering the weather conditions. I doubt even the most dedicated anglers would be out on the water.
The weather is expected to improve during the week and while we won鈥檛 get back to the 80s, we will have lighter winds and that should allow for a return to better fishing.
The one really bright spot over the weekend was the arrival of black drum in the surf. They were caught on sand fleas at 3Rs Road on Saturday and down at Fenwick Island on Friday. These were not the big drum from Coral Beds but the smaller 25 to 30-inch size that are more common in the early spring.
