Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 05/22/26
Thursday saw much cooler temperatures, but the wind stayed high, just out of a different direction.
Patty at Captain Bones in Odessa said white perch, catfish and striped bass in a variety of sizes have been caught from shore from Augustine Beach down to Woodland Beach and from the fishing pier located there. Bloodworms will work for the white perch and the stripers with catfish taking cut bait or special catfish baits.
Smith Bait in Leipsic told us the black drum bite at the Coral Beds off of Slaughter Beach has been steady with blue crab or clams the top baits. These are 35 to 40-pound fish.
Lewes Harbour Marina said no boats ventured up Delaware Bay on Thursday. One boat did fish in the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal and caught two flounder on minnows.
