Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 07/17/26
Thursday was not quite as hot as the smoke from Canada filtered out a bit of the sun. The fishing remained just about the same with croaker and spot leading the parade followed by a few keeper flounder.
Steve at Smith Bait in Leipsic said croaker were caught from the fishing pier at Woodland Beach and at Port Mahon on bloodworms and Fishbites. Slot stripers were caught at the Augustine Wall on peeler crab, bloodworms and shrimp. A few slots and lots of croaker have been caught at the Bowers Beach Jetty. Some keeper flounder were also caught there on jigs with minnows, squid strips or twister tails.
Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em reported a 63-pound cobia caught by Charlie Horning. Charlie did not register for a citation so that is all the information I have. The head boats had flounder and sea bass from ocean structure.
