WGMD Fishing Report 10-23-20

mark-levin-promo

Thursday was like summer came back for a visit.  The weather was beautiful, but the ocean was a bit rollie with six-foot seas that will carry us through the weekend with small craft advisories.  These seas should not bother larger boats that can handle them, but small boats should be careful especially around inlets and the mouth of Delaware Bay.

I fished Indian River Inlet from 10:00 AM until 2:30 PM along the northside just west of the bridge.  There were quite a few fellow anglers lining the rail and I saw one keeper tog caught along with two shorts and one oyster cracker.  I soaked artificial bait without result.

I stopped by Old Inlet Bait and Tackle on my way to the inlet and Clark said no rockfish were caught Wednesday night on eels.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina told us Steve Patts did catch a 31-inch rockfish out of the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal on a live eel.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em Lauren said a private boat brought in a few tog caught out of the Inlet.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing Report.
