WGMD Fishing Report 11-7-19

Wednesday was a beautiful fall day, but very few boats went fishing.  Things look to go downhill over Thursday and Friday as colder weather moves into our area.

Tom at Lewes Harbour Marina said Rick Rumble caught a 28-inch rockfish on a live eel out of the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal.

Captain Cary Evans called to report a boat limit of tog on the Grizzly as that fishery is improving every day.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle the report was tog out of Indian River Inlet on green crabs and sand fleas.  One angler reported catching a limit of four keepers by placing three sand fleas on his hook.

Last Sunday I attended a program at the Lewes Library on dredging the Inland Bays.  The project to deepen Massey’s Ditch is on track to begin on January 6 and finish on February 26.  Equipment will begin moving into place starting on November 11.  The dredged material will be used to widen the beach on the northside of Indian River Inlet.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
