WGMD Fishing Report 12-2-19

Sunday saw small craft advisories up and they will remain up for Monday and possibly for most of the week.

Saturday the weather was fishable, but the tog didn’t cooperate for Delaware boats.  Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said he saw five tog cross his cleaning table all day.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle the report was very slow tog fishing at the inlet.  A few shorts and even fewer keepers.  Not sure why tog bite well one day and not the next, but that is exactly what they do.  I do know they will hole up when the current is running strong then come out on slack water or during periods of less current, but other than that, their behavior remains a mystery.

The Morning Star out of Ocean City did have a decent day on black sea bass, but said it was not quite as good as it had been.  Several anglers did limit out while most had good catches.  The boat also saw almost 100 porgies.  A record for the 40 years he has been sailing.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
