WGMD Fishing Report

bill-o

While the NOAA marine forecast for Thursday called for three-foot seas, I had a feeling from watching the trees bend at my house they just might be a bit under estimating with that prediction.  Nevertheless, a few boats did go and they did catch a few fish.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid brought in a pair of yellowfin tuna.  The Pirate King had a catch of croaker and kings from Delaware Bay.

At Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park the report was good fishing for spot with a few keeper flounder taken as well.

Rick’s Bait and Tackle recorded a five-pound flounder for Captain Chuck Cook at First Light Charters.  The big flatfish took a piece of cut squid at the Old Grounds.  Robin Manning caught a 10.5-pound bluefish out of Indian River Inlet on cut spot.

Teresa Spence reported on a great day at Cape Henlopen State Park catching croaker and spot while watching birds and porpoise feed on schools of bunker.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
