WGMD Fishing Report 5-12-21

Wednesday saw small craft advisories up in the morning and that discouraged most folks from going out in the ocean or bay.  Believe it or not, but the forecast for the next few days, including the weekend, looks good.  That includes Saturday when sea bass season opens and tog season closes.

Curt Smith sent me a report and a photo of the flounder he caught out of the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal on Tuesday evening.  He was using a spinner with a shrimp for bait and released the fish because he had no way to measure it.

Deanna at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said the Miss Ene ran out on a half-day tog trip and come back with some for her party.

On June 5, the Andy and Opie Fishing Tournament will be held at Memorial Park in Milton.  Anglers to 17 years old may enter.  The festivities begin at 8:00 AM with registration and end at 1:00 PM with the awards ceremony.  The first 300 kids that register will receive a tackle box or a fishing rod.  Go to www.getkidshooked.com for the registration form.
