WGMD Fishing Report 5-20-21

bill-o

Thursday saw a brisk southeast wind that was a tad stronger than advertised.  The marine forecast is still calling for five to ten on Friday and the rest of the weekend.  Seas will build to three to four feet in the ocean and the wind will be turning to the southwest.  If you plan to fish over the weekend, bring plenty of DEET.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina reminded everyone that the Joe Morris Memorial Canal Flounder Tournament is Friday and they usually get 400 or more anglers entered in the contest.  Unless you are in the tournament, you should find somewhere else to fish, other than the Canal.

On Wednesday evening Captain Pete Haines had Rich Cosmore out in Delaware Bay where he caught and released an 82-pound black drum.

Matthew Bennett and friend fished Delaware Bay on Wednesday evening and caught three big black drum on Lewes Harbour Marina clams.  Taylor, Nathan and Dustin fished Delaware Bay off of Fowlers Beach and caught seven black drum on clams.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
