WGMD Fishing Report 5-29-21

Saturday saw gale warnings up and they may be up again on Sunday. In addition to the seas being as high as ten feet the rain was coming down in buckets. If anyone went fishing, I don’t want to know about it.

In addition to the rain and rough seas there will be coastal flooding. This will cause all sorts of junk to wash into the streams and rivers that flow into the bay and ocean and that will mess up the fishing for several days after the storm is over. It can also put some nasty stuff in the water that will damage boat hulls and motor lower units. Keep that in mind as you venture forth after the storm.

On June 5, the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will hold the 35th Annual Youth Fishing Tournament. The contest will run from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at more than 30 public freshwater public ponds. The tournament is open to kids from four to fifteen. Go to Delaware Youth Fishing Tournament for all the details.
