Friday saw some activity from charter and head boats out of Lewes and Indian River. The weekend won’t be perfect, but it should be fishable.

Amanda said Adam Clark fished on the Angler and caught a 77.5-pound black drum. The Savannah Lynn with Captain Mark had a catch of tog for his party. A private boat brought in more black drum from Delaware Bay.

At Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park the report was good flounder action during high tide. Shrimp and Gulp! were the best baits.

Chris at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said the Judy V got out on a tog trip and found some nice fish on ocean structure. A private boat brought in a catch of golden tilefish from the deep.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle they were busy getting ready for their spring surf tournament on Saturday, but said the shad action remained good at the inlet. Some 30-inch rockfish have been caught under the shad. The South Pocket has given up larger rockfish at night.
