WGMD Fishing Report 6-5-19

Mike Pizzolato and I were the first fishermen to launch a boat at the Lewes Ramp on Tuesday morning, but the 6:00 AM start did us little good as the northwest wind had the bay kicked up beyond the ability of my 16-foot tin boat.  By the time I was halfway out of Roosevelt Inlet I knew Plan A (fishing Delaware Bay) was history leaving us with Plan B, drifting the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal.  Mike and I covered the same ground Barbara and I covered on Friday, but the only result was one bite for each of us.  On top of that, the northwest wind was cold and by 10:00 we were ready to call it a day.

Old Inlet reported one of their customers has been catching blues to 10 pounds from a jet ski out of Rehoboth Bay directly behind the store.

Lauren at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em told us a private boat caught 16 flounder to 5.6 pounds at the Old Grounds.  The Gale Force with Captain Aaron Herd had four flounder and a sea bass from ocean structure.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing Report
