Saturday was the day that summer arrived on Delmarva.  Air temperatures rose above 90 degrees and the wind was light.  The marine forecast looks good right through Wednesday.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina told us that Michelle Schnaitman caught a 21-inch flounder off an ocean reef.  Donnie Vanderslice had a beautiful keeper rockfish from an undisclosed location in Lewes.  On Saturday, the Katydid, Surface Tension and several private boats brought in coolers full of sea bass.

Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park said Saturday saw a few flounder taken on Gulp! and some kings and small trout caught on bloodworms or Fish Bites.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em Deanna told us the Judy V had sea bass limits for some of her anglers on Saturday.  Scott Hall caught a 42.2-pound golden tilefish from 600 feet of water in the Poorman’s Canyon that spooled him twice on light tackle.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
