WGMD Fishing Report 7-11-19

Hermann-Financial

Wednesday was another beautiful fishing day and Harry Yingling and I headed out once again, but this time, due to the outgoing water, we tried fishing in the ocean.  I have had some success catching flounder by drifting right behind the surf line so that’s what we tried.  The beach at Cape Henlopen Point is closed so we worked there making several drifts without result.  Then we moved to the ocean side of the Outer Wall where Harry had a short flounder right away, but after several drifts and one oyster toad, that was it.  Finished the morning on the bay side of the wall where we caught nothing.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina told us that Francis George caught a 2.37-pound trout while fishing on the Angler.  I bet it’s the one Harry lost on Tuesday.  The Katydid had a limit of king mackerel on Tuesday plus four flounder from the inshore lumps.

Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park said spot fishing was good at high tide.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing Report.
