WGMD Fishing Report 7-12-19

Hot and muggy was the best description of Thursday’s weather and Friday looks a little iffy in the morning.  The rest of the weekend looks great so you should be able to get out and do some serious fishing.

I stopped by Lewes Harbour Marina late on Thursday afternoon and saw the remains of some kings and bluefish that had been caught by surf fishermen at Cape Henlopen State Park.  None of the charter boats had returned in time for this report.

Lighthouse View Tackle said the spot bite was spotty until high tide when it turned on pretty well.  Bloodworms or FishBite bloodworms were the best bait.  Only short flounder had been caught on Thursday.

Dianna at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said the Razor Back brought in a 130-pound bluefin tuna and several big bluefish from the inshore lumps.  An overnight trip saw a good catch of golden tilefish and dolphin to 25 pounds.  The Judy V did manage to bring in a few flounder.  Blues have been caught from the inlet on incoming water.  The Gale Force had flounder from the Inlet.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing Report.
