Friday got the holiday weekend off to a pretty good start.  The marine weather for the remainder of the weekend looks good for boaters and shore fishermen alike.

I have seen anglers fishing Canary Creek every time I go over the bridge on Pilot Town Road on my way to the Lewes Boat Ramp.  On Friday I decided to give it a try.  It couldn’t be much easier.  I parked alongside the creek on the boat ramp side, got out my folding chair, rod, reel and FishBite bloodworm baited rig.  Made a cast, sat down and enjoyed about an hour of quiet fishing.  I did catch a very small sea bass and had a nice oyster toad spit the hook at the surface.  I saw a few other fish caught, but nothing very large.  I will be back.

Lewes Ice House reported Bob Warehiem and Ike caught their limit of slot rockfish on eels out of the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal and released a 28 and a 34-inch rock.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Savannah Lynn with Captain Jack had a four-hour trip to Site 8 and came back with croaker and a nice triggerfish.
