WGMD Fishing Report 8-21-19

Hermann-Financial

Tuesday was a beautiful day to be on Delaware Bay and that’s exactly where I was.  Doug Elliott and I headed out from the Lewes Boat Ramp around 6:00 AM for the Outer Wall on a perfectly slick calm sea as my Grandfather would have called it.  When we arrived, the current was still going out and the tide was rising.  Doug jigged a Gulp! and bucktail on the bottom while I cast a black back WindCheater to the rocks.  I caught a small blue, Doug didn’t have a hit.  I ran to the north end of the wall looking for something on my SONAR and found nothing until I was on the Shears.  There we caught some spot on FishBite bloodworms.  We moved to site 8 and then to Site 6.  Everywhere we went we had constant action with spot.  We called it a very enjoyable day at noon.

The Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament is going on in Oregon Inlet, North Carolina and the Marlin Magic II has pretty much sewed up the blue marlin category with a massive 1,035 pounder.
