WGMD Fishing Report 8-28-20

Thursday was a bit rough on the ocean as the southwest wind had the water churned up.  The weekend is not looking good with increasing south winds, lots of rain and high seas in the marine forecast.

At Lewes Harbour Marina Tommy said the Angler was able to fish in Delaware Bay and came back with a few kings and croaker.  The Katydid tried the ocean, but the rough conditions made for difficult fishing and they only brought in a few sea bass and flounder.

At Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park, the report was very slow fishing due to the strong southwest wind.

Deanna at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said the Judy V fished inshore wrecks and found triggers and blues for her morning group.  Spanish mackerel and bluefish were caught by trolling small spoons at Fenwick Shoal.

My friend Darren Purcell caught an 18-inch flounder out of the surf at Assateague Island.

The Thelma Dale out of Fisherman’s Wharf had a good pick of flounder on Thursday.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
