WGMD Fishing Report 8-7-20

bill-o

Thursday saw a good deal of rain and fog, but boats fished the ocean and bay.  The easterly wind kept temperatures cool and it looks like more of the same for Friday.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid had a boat limit of sea bass from ocean structure on Thursday along with a few flounder.  The Pirate King brought in some kings from the bay.

At Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park the report was a little better fishing on Thursday for kings and spot.  Bloodworms and FishBites were the best baits.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said the Inlet is beginning to give up flounder to four pounds to those who use Gulp! on a float rig.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em they told us about a 300-pound blue marlin brought in on the boat LMA.

At the White Marlin Open the first white marlin is on the board.  A 72 pounder was weighed in around 5:00 PM by the boat Reel Estate.  They now have to sweat it out until Sunday to see if 72 pounds will hold up.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
