WGMD Fishing Report 9-25-20

Thursday was overcast and cool, but the winds were light and the seas were down making for decent fishing conditions.  The weekend looks good if you can dodge a few rain drops.

I drove down to Indian River Inlet around 2:30 PM to catch the top of the incoming current and worked the rips west of the bridge with bucktails and metal until the rips disappeared around 4:00 PM.  My efforts were not rewarded.

After leaving the Inlet I stopped by Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em where Burt was cleaning sea bass that came from the Del-Jersey-Land Reef.  He said a 247-pound thresher shark had come in earlier from a private boat.  The Judy V had sea bass and a few croaker on her morning trip.

Ronnie at Lewes Harbour Marina told us the Katydid brought home flounder and sea bass from ocean structure on Thursday.  The Pirate King and the Angler fished bay structure for a mixed bag of flounder, croaker and sheepshead.
