WGMD Fishing Report 9-5-20

Hermann-Financial

Friday was a nice day on shore.  Reports from a few boats indicated it was a bit rough on the ocean in the morning, but improved as the day went on.  The marine forecast for Saturday calls for north winds 15 to 20 with gusts to 25 knots turning northeast in the afternoon and dropping out to 10 to 15.  Not very encouraging if you have a small boat or weak stomach.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said private boats came in with flounder from ocean structure.  The Katydid also had a good catch of flounder as did the Grizzly.

The Thelma Dale out of Fisherman’s Wharf found some flounder and dolphin for her customers after searching a lot of ocean structure.

At Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park, Dave told us the strong storms with heavy rain overnight slowed the fishing on Friday.  On Thursday, Danny James caught a 17.5-inch flounder on green Gulp!

Burt at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said their boats brought in flounder and sea bass.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
