13-year-old Student Facing Charges After Bringing Unloaded Handgun to School

A 13-year-old student at Milford Central Academy is facing several charges after being found in possession of an unloaded handgun during the school day on Monday, June 2nd. The School Resource Officer secured the weapon and took the student into custody after another student alerted school officials about a photo. No ammunition was found. The student was charged with multiple felonies, including possession of a deadly weapon by a minor, carrying a concealed firearm, terroristic threatening, and possessing a weapon in a safe recreation zone. He was released to his parent pending a court date in Kent County Family Court.
