Two Romanian Nationals Arrested for Tampering with ATM in Ridgely

Deputies from the Caroline County Sheriff’s office were called for a report of potential tampering with an ATM located at the Queenstown Bank on East Sixth Street in Ridgely, MD. Maryland State Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description in the broadcast alert near Ridgely and Eveland Roads.聽

The occupants of the vehicle were identified as 37 year old Dragio Mircea-Costin and 36 year old Alexandru Popescu, both Romanian Nationals living in Capital Heights, Maryland.

During the investigation by Sheriff’s deputies, a skimmer and SD card were located on the ATM and the two men from the traffic stop were criminally charged with tampering with the ATM.

Since their arrest, ICE officials have issued detainers for both men.
