Two Charged after Fight on Barrister Place in Dover

Two have been arrested on gun charges by Dover Police after an incident early Sunday morning on Barrister Place in Dover. Police were called around 1:30am when dispatch received screaming on an open line, but no one was answering questions. After reviewing cameras from Barrister Place they saw what looked to be a large fight and a black SUV leaving the area. Officers responding to the area spotted a black Range Rover on South Little Creek Road and determined it was the vehicle seen on Barrister Place and conducted a traffic stop following a traffic violation. Officers contacted the occupants and identified the rear passengers as 20 year old Vakendre Taylor of Dover and 18 year old Josiah Watson of Wilmington. A firearm was seen under the driver’s seat at Taylor’s feet. Watson tried to run, but was caught after a short foot chase and a search of the vehicle turned up a second firearm under the passenger seat.

Both defendants were transported to the Dover Police Department to be processed and arraigned.
