Update your contact information with us so you can report an outage and get restoration notifications. Log in to SmartHub, click Settings – Contact Methods and enter your current cell phone and/or home phone number. If you aren’t enrolled in SmartHub, creating an account is easy and a great way to manage your usage, pay bills and report outages. You can also update your contact information by calling our Member Service Center Mon. – Fri. from 8am – 4pm at 1.877.892.0001.
To report an electric outage, call our Outage Reporting Number: 1-800-410-4790 and select Option 1 or use your SmartHub app.
To sign up for outage communication SMS, text the word CHOPTANK to 1-800-410-4790. Once signed up, text the following keywords to interact with the service:
- OUT – Report an outage at your location.
- STATUS – Get more info about an outage.
- QUIT – Opt out of outage notifications.
- HELP – Get help with your outage notifications.

**The number you select MUST be the number that is attached to your Choptank Electric account. If your cell phone number is not currently attached to your account, please call our Member Service Center at 1-877-892-0001 and speak with one of our Member Service Representatives to add your cell phone number to your account.

While we hope there aren’t any outages, our team is closely monitoring the forecast and ready to respond if winter weather impacts our system. Conditions can change quickly, and Choptank Electric Cooperative is prepared to restore power as safely and efficiently as possible.
