Three Eastern Correctional Institute Inmates Charged with Fire Related Crimes


Three inmates at Eastern Correctional Institute in Westover, in Somerset County, have been charged in connection with separate fire incidents in February and March. State Fire Marshal investigators say the fires were intentionally set, with charges ranging from malicious burning to first-degree arson. Deputy State Fire Marshals served criminal summons’ at Eastern Correctional Institute on 33-year-old Matthew Moore, 29-year-old Dylan Davin, and 28-year-old River Donovan. Moore is accused of setting a fire in his cell. Davin is accused of setting his food tray on fire in his cell before pushing it out of his cell and into the hallway of the tier he was being held on. Donovan is accused of threatening to burn the prison as well as his cell mate. He is also accused of setting fire to numerous combustible materials in his cell to include his mattress. If convicted, they could face significant prison time and fines.
