At the close of Wednesday’s formal trading session, WTI rose 74 cents to settle at $76.79 a barrel. The EIA reports crude oil inventories decreased by 8.3 million barrels from the previous week. At 418.2 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are about 6% below the five-year average for this time of year.
The Weekend
“Gas prices across the region have dropped more than 50-cents per gallon since peaking in May, which is welcome news for motorists as the summer driving season heats up,” Jana Tidwell, spokesperson for AAA Club Alliance. “News of a peace deal with Iran sent crude oil prices downward and gas prices are following suit. For the 61.4 million Americans planning a road trip for the July 4th holiday, prices at the pump will likely continue to fall in the coming days.”
