DUI Checkpoint Somewhere in Sussex County Friday Night

There will be a DUI checkpoint in Sussex County on Friday, July 10. This is part of the ongoing effort to reduce impaired driving and keep roadways safe during the summer travel season. Delaware law enforcement agencies across the state will take part in partnership with the Office of Highway Safety, who remind you that impairment is not limited to alcohol. Prescription medications, cannabis and other drugs can also affect judgment, coordination, and reaction time, making it unsafe and illegal to drive impaired.

So far this year, Delaware has recorded 416 confirmed impairment-related crashes – others remain under investigation.
