February 5, 2026/
As football fans look forward to the big game, Super Bowl Sunday is consistently one of the deadliest days for drunk driving in the United States, with approximately 45% of all traffic fatalities on game day involving alcohol-impaired drivers, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). AAA and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) are urging fans to plan sober rides home, noting impaired-driving deaths overall have risen 33% nationwide since 2019. Drivers will see more law enforcement on the road on game day, with officers on the lookout who will have zero tolerance for impaired drivers.
