Delaware State Police say an armed robbery in Georgetown Wednesday night is similar to a string of armed robberies in Sussex County, but not necessarily connected.

Either way, police are searching for a group of armed robbers who held up two people late Wednesday evening in Sandhill Acres. According to police, around 11 PM two people were parked in a driveway when two suspects, one armed with a handgun, approached the vehicle and ordered the male passenger out of the car. Two more suspects appeared, and the man turned over his wallet and cell phonebefore the crew left.

The first suspect was described as a Hispanic male wearing a dark colored sweatshirt.  The second suspect was described as a Hispanic male wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, with a light colored bandana partially covering his face and displaying a handgun.  The other two suspects that exited the vehicle could only be described as Hispanic males.

The suspects vehicle was described as a white, four door passenger car.  No further suspect or vehicle information could be provided at this time.  Both victims were not injured as a result of this incident.

Delaware State Police say while the MO is similar to a string of armed robberies in Western Sussex being perpetrated by a group of hispanic males, they cannot say definitively it is the same individuals. Also, police note, the getaway vehicle in previous instances was a dark colored sedan, and this time the car was white. Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police.
