Bar-Restaurant Employee Charged With Decking Unruly Patron

An employee of a Millville establishment is charged with slugging a 26-year-old man who became unruly and who is himself facing a pending charges of indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.

According to Delaware State Police, troopers arrived at Hooked Up Ale House on Town Center Road last weekend, where the 26-year-old man was unconscious in the parking lot being treated by medical personnel.

An investigation determined that the man appeared to be highly intoxicated and started to yell when he was asked to leave. Outside, he continued to shout obscenities, made inappropriate sexual gestures and exposed himself.

Police said 41-year-old William Mitchell of Millsboro, who works at Hooked Up, punched the man once in the upper body, causing him to fall to the ground. Mitchell turned himself in to Troop Four and was charged with assault second degree. He was released on unsecured bond.

A warrant is out for the other man, a resident of Bethany Beach, who was in serious condition at Christiana Hospital.
