Berlin Man Sentenced for Sexual Child Abuse
A Berlin man has been sentenced to life in prison for two counts 2nd degree rape. A Worcester County judge last week sentenced 61 year old Keith Mariani to life in prison with all but 15 years suspended for one count of 2nd degree rape. Mariani was sentenced to serve another 15 years for his conviction on a second count of 2nd degree rape. The sentences are to be served consecutively and without the possibility of parole. After finishing his 30 year sentence, Marini will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. The charges stem from a complaint last February of child sexual abuse to the Worcester County Sheriff’s office. The investigation showed Mariani repeatedly sexually abused a child in his home over a two year period. Child pornography was also found on 3 of Mariani’s cell phones involving unidentified victims.
