Code Orange Air Quality Action Day

Thursday, July 16th is a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day in Delaware as smoke from Canadian wildfires combines with extreme heat to create unhealthy air for sensitive groups. DNREC Officials say smoke will increase throughout the day, with a dense plume expected Thursday evening as a cold front moves through. Looking ahead, Friday is expected to bring even higher particle pollution from lingering wildfire smoke, while smoky conditions are also expected to continue into Saturday, keeping air quality at unhealthy levels for sensitive groups.
