Crash North of Bethany Shuts Down Fred Hudson Road for Over 12 Hours

A crash Saturday morning closed Fred Hudson Road north of Bethany Beach for much of the day while utility crews worked to repair a utility pole and other power connections.  Delaware State Police say a Jeep driven by Samuel Geiser was westbound on Fred Hudson Road when his Jeep went off the road and struck a mailbox and continued through the front yard damaging grass and bushes and struck the plastic cover of a Delaware Electric utility pole and a large electric box.  The rear of the Jeep went airborne and landed on guidelines of a utility pole.  A small fire near a front tire of the Jeep was put out with a fire extinguisher.  There were no injuries and Geiser was cited for inattentive driving.
