UPDATED: Crash Saturday Night Near Roxana Leaves 1 Dead, 4 Injured

UPDATED 8-19-19 – Delaware State Police have identified the name of the driver who died in a crash on August 17 on Gum Road near the intersection of Roxanna Road / Route 17 west of Roxana as 74-year-old Rosemary Amato 0f Weston, OH.


The crash continues remains under investigation by the Collision Reconstruction Unit.

An Ohio woman is dead after a crash west of Roxana Saturday night.  Delaware State Police say a 74 year old woman from Ohio driving a Nissan failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Gum and Roxana Roads and collided with a Traverse driven by a 50 year old Maryland man.  Both drivers were properly restrained but the Ohio woman died from her injuries at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.  The driver of the Traverse was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with serious injuries – three passengers in the SUV who were also properly restrained were treated for injuries at PRMC in Salisbury. The investigation is continuing.
