Delaware Unemployment Continues to Fall

Unemployment in Delaware fell 2-tenths of a percent from January to 4.6% in February, but remains nearly a full point higher than the national average of 3.8%. Sussex County saw a drop in unemployment from 5.3% in January to 4.7% in February. Overall the State’s unemployment rate continues to decrease from its highest point in May of 2020 – at 13.3%. Over the past year, Delaware has seen nearly 3% growth in the Whole & Retail Trade and Leisure & Hospitality sectors, but a loss of nearly 2% in the Education & Health sector.
