DelDOT looks to expand Route 24 into 4-lane highway

DelDOT plans to turn Route 24 into a four lane highway in between Angola and Route 1. The plan was unveiled last night at a public workshop. Officials say as the region continues to grow, Route 24 is one of the few east/west corridors and will need to absorb more traffic. DelDOT is currently in the process of acquiring the right of way from property owners along the stretch, the final design will be unveiled later this fall. Officials hope construction will be completed by 2020.
