Public comment is being taken by the Delaware Department of Education on the development of standardized school-level financial reporting.  The federal Every Student Succeeds Act and Senate Bill 172, which was passed by state lawmakers this year require development of a state-wide approach to define and report school-level expenditures, so that per-pupil expenditures can be better compared.  A public meeting is set for Sussex County at the Lewes Public Library on Thursday, October 11 from 5 to 7pm.

Public comment will be limited to five minutes per person; DOE will accept written comments at any of the meetings or via email by Friday, October 12th to jennifer.roussell@doe.k12.de.us with “SB 172 Public Comment” in the subject line.
