DOJ Obtains Lengthy Sentence in 2024 Domestic Violence Case


A Millsboro man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison followed by4 陆 years of probation for his role in a brutal assault that occurred in August of 2024. The sentencing on May 7th follows Jeremy Powell’s convictions on charges of Assault First Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Stalking, Felony Criminal Contempt of a Domestic Violence Protection Order, and Felony Non-Compliance with Conditions of Recognizance Bond. According to the Delaware Department of Justice, on August 6th, 2024, Powell attacked his estranged wife, stabbing her over 35 times at a residence in Seaford. The Seaford Police Department arrested him the same day. The victim survived after being airlifted to Christiana Hospital for treatment.聽
