Dover Man Arrested in Dewey Beach for Stabbing

UPDATED – 07/04/26 – 6:30pm – A Dover man has been arrested by Dewey Beach Police in connection with a stabbing that occurred around 10:30 Friday night on Read Avenue. Police arriving at the scene found a 37 year old Clayton man at the intersection of Read and Coastal Highway with multiple stab wounds to his upper body. He was transported to an area hospital and is listed in stable condition.
Further investigation indicates this was domestic-related dispute when the father of a woman’s children arrived uninvited and got involved in a dispute with the woman’s boyfriend. Dewey Beach Police arrested 37 year old Samuel Coker of Dover, who was also injured. Coker is charged with 1st degree assault, weapons and other offenses.
