Dover Police Search For Suspect in Rape Attempt

Dover Police released surveillance photos of a suspect in the attempted rape of a homeless woman early Monday in the parking lot of the library

Dover Police are looking for a suspect in an attempted rape at the parking lot of the Dover Library at Loockerman Plaza.

At about 12:13 a.m. Monday, a 45-year-old homeless woman was approached by a male who struck her several times, threw her to the ground and started to remove her clothing. The victim screamed for help and two men who were in the area ran to help her and confronted the suspect.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries. The suspect got away on foot.
