UPDATED: Dover PD Arrest Dover Man in May Shooting Incident
UPDATED – 11/03/23 – Dover Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting in May on Spruance Road that sent a 17 year old victim to the hospital. Investigation into the shooting identified 19 year old Khalil Smith of Dover as a suspect and on Monday detectives obtained warrants for Smith, who is being held at SCI on unrelated charges.
Smith was arraigned at SCI where he was held on $75,500 cash bail on the following charges:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (2x)
- Reckless Endangering First Degree (2x)
- Assault Second Degree
- Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony
- Conspiracy Second Degree
- Criminal Mischief

ORIGINAL STORY – 05/09/23 – A 17 year old male from Dover is recovering from a gunshot to the upper body early Tuesday morning. Dover Police were called to Spruance Road around 2:30am where they located the teen and rendered aid. During their investigation police learned that a vehicle was also struck by gunfire during this incident.
