DRBA Sets New Date for 2026 Ferry Fare Proposal Public Meeting
A virtual meeting to discuss the goals and objectives of proposed fare changes at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry has been rescheduled to Monday, February 9th at 6:30pm. The fare proposal includes modest increases – primarily on vehicle fares – to reflect inflationary pressures, the introduction of a new staircase or surge pricing model for in-season travel and selected fare decreases to encourage family and multi-trip travel at the bi-state agency’s southern crossing facility. Public comment and input is encouraged.
The virtual meeting will take place via Microsoft TEAMS –Â http://www.drba.net/events/ferry-public-hearing-2026

“Historically, we’ve introduced changes to our fare structure every other year,” said Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations. “These modifications are designed to not only help reduce the operating subsidy of the ferry, but also to make travel for families and frequent travelers more affordable. We are hosting this virtual public hearing to get some feedback on the proposed changes from our guests. We are looking forward to what our stakeholders have to say.”
