DSP Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach

A 68 year old woman from Rehoboth Beach is dead after she was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night just after 8pm on Coastal Highway in the area of Munchy Branch Road.  Delaware State Police believe the woman was crossing Coastal Highway and stepped from the median into the path of an SUV, operated by a 29 year old woman from Rehoboth who was properly restrained and not injured.  Police say the 68 year old woman was taken to Beebe Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.  The investigation is continuing.
