Fire Saturday Morning Damages Boat a Wicomico Yacht Club

Firefighters from the Allen Volunteer Fire Company were called to the Wicomico Yacht Club in Eden Saturday morning for a boat fire. Maryland State Fire Marshal investigators say occupants from a nearby boat heard an activated smoke alarm and discovered the fire around 7:30am.

Firefighters found an unoccupied 34 foot boat docked at the time of the fire and were able to prevent the fire from extending to the covered dock building or nearby vessels.

Officials say the fire was accidental – an electrical event involving Shore Line Power.

Damage is estimated at $65,000.
