Friday Morning Crash Injures 2 in Rehoboth Beach

A serious crash Friday morning shut down the southbound lanes on Route 1 just south of Route 24 in Rehoboth. Delaware State Police say just after 9:40 a car traveling northbound in the left turn lane crossed the concrete median and collided head on with a cement mixer. The driver of the car, a 48 year old woman from Lewes was properly restrained and trapped in the vehicle. She was taken to Beebe Medical Center and is now in serious but stable condition at Christiana Hospital. The driver of the cement mixer, a 34 year old man from Dover was treated for minor injuries. The investigation continues.
