Kent County, DE Government Closings for Thanksgiving

Kent County Administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27th , and Friday, November 28th in observance of  Thanksgiving. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Kent County trash collection services will be adjusted as follows:

  • Thursday customers will have service on Friday, November 28.   
  • Friday customers will have service on Saturday, November 29.

Kent County Public Library will reopen on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-5:00 pm.  At 2pm on Sunday, the Ballet Theatre of Dover will give a free performance.

Kent County Recreation Center will reopen on Saturday at Noon for drop-in Pickleball until 2pm and drop-in Basketball from 3  – 5pm.  Sunday’s schedule will be the same.
