UPDATE : Suspect Arrested For Dover Shooting Death

A Felton woman is facing charges of murder and other offenses in connection with the shooting death of a man in Dover.

Dover Police said 20-year-old Nyasia Smith was developed as a suspect in connection with the shooting early Wednesday in the area of West North Street and Simon Circle. Police said Smith was in possession of a loaded nine-mm handgun, some marijuana and a digital scale at the time of her arrest during a traffic stop in the Felton area.

Smith was being held at the Baylor Women’s Correctional Center. The name of the 37-year-old victim has not been released.

Dover Police are investigating the capital city’s second homicide of 2021.

A 37-year-old man died in a hospital after being shot several times in the area of West North Street and Simon Circle.
Police were called to the scene early Wednesday at 1:33 a.m. The name of the man who died has not been released.
