A Laurel man is charged with firing his gun at a local restaurant after being asked to leave.

Delaware State Police said Monday that troopers were dispatched to the R-n-R Grill n’ Bar on Sussex Highway Friday night. An investigation determined, according to police, that 38-year-old Aaron Givens took a handgun from his pants as employees were escorting him out of the building and pointed it at them and two patrons behind them. They ran back inside, and police say Givens fired three or four rounds in their direction. No one was struck, but one employee suffered a knee injury as he tried to escape.

Laurel Police officers found Givens near a shed behind the establishment and took him into custody without incident. A .22- pistol was recovered.

Givens is charged with reckless endangering, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and possession of a firearm while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
